Woooohoooo! The day that we’ve been waiting for is here!!!!! She Speaks registration is open.
I think most of our readers are familiar with Proverbs 31 Ministries’ summer conference for speakers and writers, but if you’re new, I want to give you the scoop. Why? Because I love She Speaks more than my birthday. To some of you that might not be a big deal, but I’m narcissistic about my birthday verging on the need for repentance.
Here are my Top 10 Favorite Things about She Speaks:
10. It’s held at the Embassy Suites which is loveliness balm for a tired woman’s soul.
9. The place is filled with girlfriends…
8. Which means that you must go buy one pair of completely irresistible shoes. You don’t need a whole new wardrobe (more on that in the future), but I give you permission to buy one pair of shoes. 🙂
7. The atmosphere with all those Jesus-loving, single-focused women with like-callings is palpably powerful.
6. I get oodles of invaluable information from experts in their field.
5. God pours one huge heart-shift into me every year.
4. You get a chance to share your book proposal with Christian publishers. I can’t wait to read your book!
3. Praise and worship times are filled with God’s Presence.
2. Other women’s God-stories told in their Speaker Evaluation group builds faith.
1. He speaks at She Speaks.
Did I miss anything in your Top 10, past attendees?
I have signed up. This is my first year going. . first conference ever. I am like Elise above. . .going by myself and know no one. . .had to push myself on that one to sign up. Was wondering if there is a message board or someplace for all of us going where we can connect???? I’d love to find a gal who is coming from Raleigh and see if we can ride together.
This year they’ve added a board like that on the She Speaks website. I think it’s just been added. There’s also an attendee that started a FB page. It’s not sponsored by P31, but you still may like it. I know of at least one other person who just signed up from Raleigh. If you’ll email me at [email protected], I’ll forward it to her to see if she’d like to connect. Aren’t I the matchmaker!!
Oh I can relate Amy! I am the quintessential birthday brat…born on the 4th of July and truly believed it was all for me. It came as a great shock to find it was not for me, but for the whole country. And in fact, now we have a big family reunion on the 4th and everybody who is born in the summer is celebrated. No fair…I am now competing with adorable babies and teens for birthday attention. (Yes, I know…I am really obnoxious and need to repent!)
Oh, I think you pretty much covered it when it comes to She Speaks. Such and atmosphere of faith, growth, love, sisterhood. Amazing! My favorite part was going completely on my own and knowing absolutely no one. This was not easy for me to do. I have three beloved sisters who are my best friends, plus a beautiful circle of friends and I would’ve loved to have at least one of these along, but it was not to be. So out I went into the wilderness alone. It turned out to be a time of real self-discovery for me. I have been part of Moms In Prayer (formerly Moms In Touch) for 20 years, serving in various areas of leadership. So I’ve attended a lot of their conferences and retreats, in fact I’ve facilitated workshops, ran the first Northeast Conference, and even served as State Coordinator for five years. All this to say, I’m used to being part of a known group. Going to She Speaks was refreshing and pushed me out of my comfort zone to sit with and meet many wonderful new women. And everyone I met was generous, interesting, loving, awesome!!
I know the conference takes tremendous effort. God bless your whole team. You can count on my prayers. Blessings!
I registered yesterday. This will be my 4th year in a row. YEA God! But this conference is so good for me – in so many ways. Looking forward to seeing you there. Many thanks for all the Proverbs31 team and GOD for making this possible!
